(OOC) Route notes!
Nov. 8th, 2014 10:23 pmGeneral: Craft and Cunning are his high stats. Gunner more than Socialite; as I played through, he was kind of an introvert. Very loyal once his loyalty is given (to the firm, to his friends). Knowledge > loyalty > friendship > those in need. Pretty even split between sass and unflappable dialogue options. Came from a comfortable/merchant family.
Schooling: Mostly study, dated boys. Graduated near the top of his class in the Hidden Schools before VNS offered him a job.
Joining the firm: Lived close to the office, but otherwise saved as much as possible. Befriended Cass Chen and Pat Ngabe, objective was to do interesting work. Learned many things while playing poker and got Varkath's respect early.
Transdimensional Thaumaturgics contract: Used Craft for most of the work and to find the hole in the contract structure. Befriended Vega and worked with him to fix it; didn't sleep with him. Covered for Cass and told Smith to fuck off.
Pro bono job: Worked with Vega again; good working relationship/friendship there. Used threats to get R'ok out of the contract, successfully completed all the paperwork to get him a visa, stood up to his father. Called Nebuchanezzar on her shenanigans.
Demonologist's conference: Was unflappable at Wakefield, impressed the panel with technical knowledge. Made heavy use of Craft to stop the demon from killing Smith, then formally ended the panel to send it back where it came from. Saved Wakefield and Smith both, got a shard of demonglass from Wakefield.
Deposing the goddess Ajaia: Tricked her into a contradiction on day 1, succeeded in actually deposing (legal sense) her on day 2 by pure cunning and Craftsmanship. Accepted that he was doing what he was paid to do even if the whole thing was a mousetrap by the firm. Not a great opinion of gods in general, but not a super terrible one either.
Finale: Took the talisman R'ok gave him (fransherp!). Did not end up sleeping with anyone (UST between him and Vega notwithstanding). Hung out with R'ok's dad and defended demons to Smith. Successfully saved Smith from assassination attempt #1 but failed at attempt #2. Fought a hell of a Craft duel against Smith and wrecked most of the surrounding area before getting smashed, then used the talisman to kill Smith with the entire local demon population. Generally has a good opinion of those demons; pretty willing on the whole to treat anything like a person no matter what shape or species.
Epilogue: Got offers from Wakefield, the name partners and R'ok, became a partner at Varkath Nebuchanezzar Stone.
Fighting: Prefers flashy evocation effects and clever rules lawyer (heh) bullshit: space warping, Xeno cages, "make their component atoms hate each other", returning attacks to sender, etc. Not afraid to use a ton of brute-force Craft when appropriate, but prefers to use his skills more cleverly if he has the chance. Not a lot of mental stuff in general, though contracts and bindings are certainly things he has experience with.
General Approach: Craft first, then cleverness, then charm. In a world where being a Craftsman isn't normal, he's smart enough to not immediately reach for the Craft; he's charming when he wants to be, but a bit introverted. Pretty much unflappable at this point, though.
